Playing as a guest vs creating a TheKidPlay account
October 13, 2026 · By TheKidPlay
Kids can open thekidplay.com and start Drawing Studio, a game, or a quiz without creating an account. That is the default we expect for most families. An account is an extra, not a gate.
This page explains what a website account is for today, what it is not, and who should hold the email. For the binding details, read the Privacy Policy. For ads and child-directed treatment, read Safety, privacy, and ads.
Guest play: start without a sign-up wall
As a guest, a child can draw, color, play games, and try quizzes in the browser. You do not need to type an email to see whether they like Paint Canvas. If they only play once a month on a kitchen tablet, staying a guest is enough.
Guest play does not create a public profile. There is no kid chat and no social feed either way.
What a website account is for
If a parent or older child creates a website account, we store what we need to sign in on thekidplay.com. Use an account if your family wants a saved login on the website and you are willing to keep the email and password.
You do not need an account to download a drawing from the browser. Download is a file on your device, not a cloud gallery.
What an account is not
A TheKidPlay website account is not:
- A public profile other families can browse
- A place for kids to message anyone
- A shareable art gallery (the public gallery is currently turned off)
- A login for the Android app
- A quests list, star tracker, or printable reward-card page
Accounts do not save a shareable artwork page. Drawings stay in the browser or on the device unless someone downloads or shares them. If we change that, we will update this guide and the Privacy Policy.
Do not create an account because you think the site will keep every picture. It will not, today.
Who should create the email and password
If you create an account for a child, use an email and password you control. The account is for signing in on our website. It is not a public identity.
Do not let a young child invent a password they will forget and you cannot reset. Prefer a parent email. If more than one child shares a tablet, one family account is usually simpler than several child accounts.
You can delete or ask about account data through the contacts on the Privacy Policy. Email privacy@thekidplay.com for privacy questions.
The Android app is a closed beta
The TheKidPlay Android app (package name com.thekidplay.app) is a closed beta and is not available to the general public. The public product is thekidplay.com. The current beta build does not offer accounts. Signing up on the website does not create an app login. See website vs Android app.
Skipping an account on a shared family computer
On a shared computer, guest play avoids leaving a signed-in session that the next person can use. If you do sign in, sign out when you are done, the same way you would on any site.
If the computer is used by people outside your family, prefer guest play.
Start as a guest. Create an account later only if you want a website login. Games and drawing still work without one.
