Safety, privacy, and ads on TheKidPlay
October 13, 2026 · By TheKidPlay
TheKidPlay is built for children and the adults who sit with them. This page explains how thekidplay.com treats safety, data, accounts, and advertising today. The TheKidPlay Android app is a closed beta and is not available to the general public. The public product is thekidplay.com. This is a product summary for parents, not a blog post and not a substitute for our legal pages. For the binding details, read the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Terms.
No chat and no social feed
Kids cannot message strangers, post on a public wall, or join a live social feed on TheKidPlay. There is no in-product chat, no friend list, and no kid-facing comments. Play happens in drawing tools, games, and quizzes. We also do not run an open community where unknown adults can contact your child through the product.
Minimum data
We collect only what we need to run the service. We do not sell children's personal information.
On thekidplay.com, guests can play in the browser without creating an account. If a parent or older child optionally creates a website account, we store the information required to sign in. The public art gallery is currently turned off. On the website we use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic sources and general usage in aggregate. We do not use Analytics to collect names or email addresses.
The TheKidPlay Android app (package name com.thekidplay.app) is a closed beta and is not available to the general public. The current beta build does not offer accounts. It uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand stability and usage. Those app tools are not the same as website Google Analytics 4 or Google AdSense.
Accounts are optional
A website account is never required to try Drawing Studio, games, or quizzes in the browser. You can keep using the site as a guest. The public art gallery is currently turned off, so accounts do not save a shareable artwork page.
The current closed-beta Android app does not offer accounts. An internet connection is required to load activities in that beta. It is not a public download.
If you create a website account for a child, use an email and password you control. The account is for saving play on our website, not for a public profile.
Advertising on the website
thekidplay.com is a child-directed site. To keep the website free, we use or plan to use Google AdSense. Because the audience is children, we treat advertising as child-directed and intend to serve non-personalized ads—not interest-based or remarketing ads aimed at a child.
Google and partners may still use cookies or similar technologies on the website for ad serving, frequency capping, and aggregated measurement. That is described in our Cookie Policy and in Google's documentation about sites that use its services.
AdSense is a website feature only. The closed-beta Android app does not show ads, and it is not available to the general public.
The Android app is a closed beta
The current TheKidPlay Android app is a closed beta and is not available to the general public. The public product is thekidplay.com. The current beta build does not show ads and does not include in-app purchases. If that changes in a future version, we will update this page and the Privacy Policy. Do not assume a later public app and the website will behave the same way.
What this does not mean
Non-personalized, child-directed ads on the website are still ads. They can be distracting. We are honest that the free website is supported by advertising. The closed-beta Android app is not a public alternative for families who want to avoid ads. We cannot control every third-party page after you leave TheKidPlay.
